My favourite books for going gluten free

Altering your diet in any way can be a massive change! But often people find going gluten free the hardest thing they have ever tried to do.

I mean…no more bread!!!! WAAAAAAHHHH!!!!

Some people find doing a straight swap to the gluten free version easiest as they don’t need to change what they are eating or implement any new habits, however, gluten free products don’t have the same texture as the gluten containing version. This results in many not enjoying the gluten free version and therefore they don’t want to eat them.

This can allow for flour based products and processed products to be ditched altogether, as the texture of the gluten free alternative is not as palatable.

So whichever way you sway in the gluten free game, these titles are bang on the money for keeping food interesting, fresh and most importantly gluten free.

Deliciously Ella - fantastic for getting to grips with making fresh food. All the recipes are plant based with firm favourites of mine including pancakes using sweet potato! It’s colourful and quick.  I also love her cherry tomato, avocado and mango salsa. She has a few books out but this one is still the one I go to time and time again.

NOSH Gluten-free  - the perfect sized book for taking away with you. Every recipe from this has turned out exceptionally well and my favourite section of the book includes the cakes and biscuits. No surprise there as I love baking, having made the cookies and breads from this book many time! These recipes are easy and are severely scrumptious!

The Functional Medicine Cookbook – excellent or those going gluten free to alleviate some specific ailments and/or want a more body function support approach to their eating. It explains the science behind the power of food for helping to calm the body and alleviate specific symptoms, or foods to help support the function of particular body systems which need a helping hand. Recipes are easy to follow, delicious and very nutritious. A totally different approach to eating but very worthwhile to significantly improve your health.
